IMOS On-Prem - Vessel

Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for 'help:IMOS Documentation'.

Confirm that all your vessels were set up correctly during installation, and update them as your company's fleet changes.

Creating a Vessel

To create a vessel, do one of the following:

  • In the Data Center , click Vessel.
  • On the Vessel List, click  and then click New Vessel.
  • To import or update a vessel based on external data feeds, see Vessel Data Integration (requires valid licensing).

Complete at least the following required fields:

  • Vessel Code (4-6 characters)
  • Type Code
  • Speed Laden
  • Speed Ballast
  • Vessel Name
  • Vessel Type
Note: The ability to create Type L (LNG) vessels requires the LNG module.
  • Vessel DWT

Information appears on the following tabs:

Complete the remaining fields on the form as appropriate.

  • Inactive Vessel: If you have the Create Inactive Vessel Records Module Right selected, under Actions in the Data Center, this check box is selected by default for vessels you create. To activate a vessel, you must have the Module Right cleared.
  • Use ScrubbersWhen the Use Scrubbers check box is selected, low sulfur bunkers are not used for at-sea consumption within ECA zones. Instead, high sulfur ("H"-type in the Vessel) bunkers is consumed. In-port consumption still adheres to Vessel/FuelZone bunker configuration if a given port is within an ECA zone.
  • Alerts: This field can be used to capture issues; the Vessel field is highlighted in light red on several forms after an Alert is entered for it. An Alerts column can also be selected to appear in the Vessel List.

  • Fuel Zone SetYou can specify a fuel zone set to be used as a default by the vessel when creating estimates or voyages. If the field is not filled out, the vessel will automatically use the global default fuel zone set as defined in Fuel Zones.

The Summary Tree is at the right; when a vessel has been used in a voyage, it summarizes and provides access to important forms and related information. You can attach and access documents or links.

Copying a Vessel

To copy a vessel:

  1. On the toolbar of the Vessel form, click . All vessel data is copied to a new Vessel form, but voyage data is not copied, and the Estimate Only Vessel and Inactive Vessel check boxes are cleared.
  2. Complete the Vessel Code and Vessel Name fields.
  3. Click  to save the new vessel.

Vessel List

All Vessels appear on the Vessel List. In the Data Center , next to Vessel, click List.

The Vessel List is a standard IMOS list, so you can sort it, filter it, do a Quick Search, and create custom Views for it.

You can also search for a vessel: Enter a full or partial Vessel Name and an Ownership Type (or All) and then press SearchTo clear the search criteria, click Reset.

CFGEnableVoyestTceProfitShare

When enabled, PShare %/TCE fields appear on the Voyage Estimate column view.

Additionally, when CFGUseMultiOwners is enabled, a Profit Share % field appears on the Owner Information form.

CFGOverwriteConsumptionOnVesselUpdate

Vessel data imported with autovsl.exe will overwrite all fuel consumption information on the Vessel Form in the Speed Consumption table.

Require Routing Prefs on Vessel
CFGRequireRoutingPrefsOnVessel

Blocks you from saving the Vessel if there are no routes in the Routing Preferences table.

Veslink Company
CFGVeslinkCompany

Enable a Veslink Company field (above the Company field in the lower right); then a voyage will only be replicated to Veslink if the Voyage Company code is either blank or matches the Veslink Company field.

Enable Scrubber Type

CFGEnableScrubberType
When enabled, a scrubber drop-down menu appears on the Port, Voyage Bunkers, Bunker Planning, and Vessel forms accessed through a Voyage Estimate. On the Port and Vessel forms, the drop-down menu reflects scrubber values allowed at the port and equipped in the vessel. On the Voyage Estimate and Voyage, it reflects the scrubber type used for bunker calculations. On the Vessel form, the Use Scrubbers check box is replaced with the new Scrubber Type drop-down menu. The Fuel Zones form has two tabs to support Scrubber and Non-Scrubber configurations. These new options facilitate bunker calculations to use the IMO 2020 regulations.
