Piracy Routing

To set up piracy routing, do any of the following:

  • On the Voyage Estimate (Column or Details view) or Voyage Manager, set Piracy Routing/Avoidance:

Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for 'IMOS - Voyage Estimate, Column View'.

  • On the Veslink Distances or Voyage Reporting map, select Minimize ECA Routing.

  • In Veslink Distances Map Settings, there is a Minimize Piracy check box. When selected, routes will be calculated to minimize travel through Piracy Zones.

ECA Routing

To set up ECA routing, do any of the following:

  • On the Voyage Estimate (Column or Details view) or Voyage Manager, set ECA Routing/Avoidance:

Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for 'IMOS - Voyage Estimate, Column View'.

  • On the Veslink Distances or Voyage Reporting map, select Minimize ECA Routing.

  • In Veslink Distances Map Settings, there is a Minimize ECA Routing check box. When selected, routes will be calculated to minimize travel through ECA zones.

If a port is located within a Fuel Zone, its name appears:

  • A port is assigned to the smallest Fuel Zone within which it is located. For example, HUENEME is assigned to USA 25NM zone, but it is also located in US 200NM:
  • To override the low sulfur status, select the Use High Sulfur Fuel check box. Any future in-port consumption at that port uses high sulfur fuel.
  • For other ports, the field is blank:
    • To specify a port as a low sulfur area, select the Low Sulfur ECA check box.
    • You can also specify an Emission Control Area as a low sulfur area, automatically setting the area and all ports in it to low sulfur. You must have the most recent Distances update installed. To confirm, make sure that ECA Fuel Zone ports are in your Port List, and confirm that the Low Sulfur ECA check box is selected in all of them.

ECA Fuel Zones

  • ECA-AUSTRALIA

  • ECA-BRAZIL

  • ECA-CHINA: When using this fuel zone, set YANGTZE RIVER DELTA, and YANGTZE RIVER DELTA 10OCT18 as inactive. ECA-CHINA incorporates all of these zones together so the others are no longer needed. When keeping them all activated this will cause duplicated passing points in the itinerary.

  • ECA-KOREA PORTS

  • ECA-MALAYSIA

  • ECA-SUEZ CANAL

  • ECA-TAIWAN

  • ECA-YANGTZE INNER RIVER

  • HAWAII 200NM

  • ICELAND

  • NORTH SEA

  • PANAMA CANAL

  • PUERTO RICO 200NM

  • USA 200NM

  • USA 24NM

  • WORLDWIDE: This zone is used to set the Fuel Types to be consumed in ports that are not located in any of these Fuel Zones but have the Low Sulfur ECA check box selected. This includes any historic Estimates created without Fuel Zone information. It should include only Fuel Types that were being used for low sulfur consumption before configuring Fuel Zones (and no cons rate only); otherwise, the consumption rates and types will change on Estimates/voyages created before Fuel Zones were enabled.

  • YANGTZE RIVER DELTA

  • YANGTZE RIVER DELTA 1OCT18

  • ECA-HAINAN

If Worldwide/Worldwide (Non-ECA) or other ECA zones are missing from the Fuel Zones table, they may have been deleted (by right-clicking on the row) or the distance file is not up to date. These values can be populated into the system by upload the Distances file. The latest Distances file can be found at the Client Center or can be requested through our Veson Support Portal.

Specific Fuel Zone Consumption within ECA Zones:

IMO 2020 functionality allows for flexibility in the Fuel Zone set-up. Regardless of scrubber presence on a vessel, calculations are dependent upon which fuels are consumed in each specific zone (including "Worldwide", and "Worldwide Non-ECA"). This can be configured once in Fuel Zones so that additional changes do not need to be made.

Description

Enable Default Via List
CFGEnableDefaultViaList

When enabled, Voyage Estimates and Voyages will allow the selection of default ECA and piracy routing preferences.

Routing Prefs Vessel Code
CFGRoutingPrefsVslCode

Specify a system-wide routing preferences template vessel, which can be an Inactive or Estimate Only vessel; all vessels inherit its routing preferences. Inherited routing preferences are highlighted in light blue. Additional route preferences can then be specified for an individual vessel, and defaults can be overridden.
