If you are restoring a copy of production data to a test database, follow these steps to prevent any conflict between test and production settings:

  1. In your test environment, export the Messaging Service Configuration and Configuration Flag List as XML.
Note: The Messaging Service is available with an interface license, and the documentation is available in PDF form to clients who have purchased the license. For information, please contact your account manager.

  2. Perform test database restoration.

  3. In your test environment, import the previously exported Messaging Service Configuration and Configuration Flag List XML files.

  4. Restart the Messaging Service.

Importing/Exporting the Messaging Service Configuration

On the Messaging Service Configuration form:

  • To export the configuration, click Export and then save the XML file.

  • To export the configuration, click Import and then save the XML file.

Importing/Exporting Configuration Flags

In the Configuration Flag List:

  • To export configuration flags, click  and then click Export Configuration Flags. This will generate an XML file that can be sent for importing.
