How does Shipfix source port information?

In short, a variety of sources & data collection processes are cross-referenced for accuracy

Shipfix uses proprietary systemic data extraction and collection processes to gather the most useful and accurate information for each port from private sources.

Data updates are then cross checked against established public sources before being updated in our port directory. These public sources include:

  • IHS Maritime - Ports database

  • NGIA - National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

  • UN/LOCODE List

  • AAPA - American Association of Port Authorities

  • Admiralty Maritime

  • UKHO - UK Hydrographic Office

  • IAPH - International Association of Ports & Harbours
