Confirm that all your vessels were set up correctly during Veson IMOS Platform setup, and update them as your company's fleet changes.

Vessel List

The Vessel List contains all the vessels that you have the right to view. 

  • On the main menu , under Data Center, next to Vessel, click List.
  • In the Data Center quick links, click .

Vessel Form

To view an existing vessel, on the Vessel List, click its row or VESSEL NAME link. 

To create a new vessel, do one of the following:

  • On the Vessel List, click + and then click one of the following:*The Barging module is required.
  • On the main menu , under Data Center, click Vessel.
  • To copy an existing vessel, open it and then click . All vessel data is copied to a new Vessel form, but voyage data is not copied. On its Properties panel, the Estimate Only Vessel and Inactive Vessel check boxes are cleared. Complete the Vessel Code and Vessel Name fields.
  • To import or update a vessel based on external data feeds, see Vessel Data Integration (requires valid licensing).

When you create a new vessel, complete at least the following required fields:

  • Type Code
  • Speed Laden
  • Speed Ballast
  • Vessel Name
  • Vessel Type
    Note: The ability to create Type L (LNG) vessels requires the LNG module.
  • Vessel DWT

Note: The convert button will update the unit of measurement used for DWT, Draft, and Capacity. 

Complete the remaining fields on the form as appropriate.

  • Vessel Owner selection stems from the Address Book when type is set to owner (O).

Changing a Vessel Name

If a vessel has a name change, the vessel details can be updated to reflect the new name. Any past records will still show the old vessel name. For audit purposes, it is recommended to create a new vessel record and set the old vessel to inactive.

*in order to delete a vessel you must ensure the vessel is not used in any voyages, Estimates or Tc contracts.

Enable IMOS Form Layout

Enable Voyage Estimate TCE Profit Share

Additionally, when CFGUseMultiOwners is enabled, a Profit Share % field appears on the Owner Information form.

Overwrite Consumption on Vessel Update

Vessel data imported with autovsl.exe will overwrite all fuel consumption information on the Vessel Form in the Speed Consumption table.

Require Routing Prefs on Vessel

Blocks you from saving the Vessel if there are no routes in the Routing Preferences table.

Veslink Company

Enable a Veslink Company field (above the Company field in the lower right); then a voyage will only be replicated to Veslink if the Voyage Company code is either blank or matches the Veslink Company field.

Enable Scrubber Type

When enabled, a scrubber drop-down menu appears on the Port, Voyage Bunkers, Bunker Planning, and Vessel forms accessed through an Estimate. On the Port and Vessel forms, the drop-down menu reflects scrubber values allowed at the port and equipped in the vessel. On the Estimate and Voyage, it reflects the scrubber type used for bunker calculations. On the Vessel form, the Use Scrubbers check box is replaced with the new Scrubber Type drop-down menu. The Fuel Zones form has two tabs to support Scrubber and Non-Scrubber configurations. These new options facilitate bunker calculations to use the IMO 2020 regulations.

Vessel Require IMO Number

When enabled, IMO Number is a required field on the Vessel form.

Enable Vetting Workflow

When this flag is enabled, the new Vetting tab will be displayed on the Vessel form, which includes the Evaluations, Incident History, and PO Inspection grids for tracking vetting information.

Use Multi Owners

Enables you to assign multiple owners to a vessel. To open the Owner Information form, click Vessel Owners on the Vessel toolbar.
