New IMOS-Live users:

For IMOS Live clients only, follow the steps below to create a new user in IMOS (Data Center > Security):

  1. Send a request for a new user creation (not a new licence) to Veson Support. 
  2. If the request is not for a new licence, confirm if one of the existing users can be made "Inactive" to accommodate the new user. Otherwise, Veson Finance will charge for an additional licence. 
  3. Veson creates the new user's password and username and informs all the interested parties. The credentials are sent directly to the new user's email address as an encrypted email. 
  4. Create the new user in IMOS in the desired environments, Prod and/or Test, following the below standard new user creation guidelines.
  5. Please Note, Existing/Old user accounts cannot be replaced by new user accounts for auditing and security purposes.
    When a new user is required to replace an existing one, please create the new user and inactivate the existing/old one.

To create a new user:

  1. On the Security List, click Image Modified and then click New User. The IMOS User Properties window appears, with the User tab active.

  1. On the User tab, enter the following information:

    • User Name: Up to 128 characters.

    • Full Name: The user's full name.

    • Initials: The user's initials.

    • Email: The user's email address.

      The Security Administrator may change a user's Email address by accessing, changing, and then saving it in the user's profile.


    • Phone No.:

    •  The user's telephone number.

    • Select any of the following options:

      • Read-Only: Make this a Read-only user.

      • Security Administrator: Make this user a Security Administrator.

        Regardless of group membership, Security Admin configuration will be necessary if the user requires the ability to add/remove and make changes to other users in the Security List.


      • Inactive: Inactivate this user.

      • External Access Only: Prohibit this user from logging in. This user type does not count against your IMOS license.

    • Authentication: Select one

    • of the following:

      • Windows Authentication: If you select this option, IMOS uses Windows login credentials for authentication, and the user does not have to log in a second time with possibly a different user name and password. If the user changes the Windows password, it is also changed here.

      • IMOS Authentication: If you select this option, enter a New Password for the user (at least five characters), and then enter it again to Confirm the password.

  1. To set up group membership for the user, click the Membership tab. It contains a list of groups. Each group name is preceded by a check box.

    1. To add the user to a group or remove the user from a group, click the group's check box.
      Image Modified= The user is not a member of the group.
      Image Modified= The user is a member of the group.

      We recommend that you do not assign the Administrator to any groups, but assign all rights individually. As a member of a group, the Administrator might be denied rights if the group has any rights actively denied.

    To assign user rights to modules, and/or to adjust user rights inherited from groups, click the Module Rights tab.

    A user's rights include the individual user rights plus the rights from any groups to which the user belongs (see About Groups, Users, and Rights.

      • To assign the same rights for the whole module, click the module's check box. To change to a different right, click again. Each time you click, the right changes.

    If you receive an unknown error while trying to save a new user, make sure that you have not exceeded your IMOS user license limit.

After assigning user rights, print the IMOS Group and User Report from the Security List. It includes the groups and their members, the users and their information and memberships, and the rights of each user and group. You can use it to keep track of rights when assigning them to users

Creating New IMOSlive Users

To create a new IMOSlive user in the Security List, follow the steps below:
